Este artigo visa a analisar as disposições legislativas sobre o dever do Estado e da famíla para com a educação, bem como o Projeto de Lei de Responsabilidade Educacional (Projeto de Lei 7.420/2006), em especial o Substitutivo adotado pela Comissão Especial, em junho de 2017, apontando seus aspectos positivos e negativos, para, então, se aferir à necessidade de tal norma na conjuntura atual.

This article aims to analyze the legislative provisions on the duty of the State and the family towards education, as well as the legislative bill of Educational Responsibility (Bill n. 7,420/2006), especially the substitute text adopted by the Special Commission in June of 2017, pointing out its positive and negative aspects, in order to verify the need for this statute in the current context.
