O Mito da caverna, escrito por Platão há mais de dois mil anos, ainda traz reflexões atuais, servindo como base e inspiração para algumas obras, em sua maioria sendo uma reflexão filosófica, política e social, que foi a intenção do filósofo grego ao escrever sobre esse mito em seu livro A República. No entanto, considerou-se no mito a representação da realidade partindo da sua relação com a literatura. Por conseguinte, foi percebido na obra filmíca Room(2015) traços dialógicos com a obra de Platão. A partir disso, analisando as obras, pensou-se em como a realidade está sendo representada em ambas. Sendo assim, a presente pesquisa tem como objetivo analisar a partir do método comparatista, a representação da realidade no Mito da caverna de Platão e na obra fílmica Room (2015) de Lenny Abrahamson. Partindo dos pressupostos teóricos de Compagnon (1998) este artigo, através da pesquisa bibliográfico-documental, apresentará a relação entre literatura e realidade. Posteriormente, fará a análise das duas obras, para que se observe características relevantes entre as mesmas. E por fim, trará algumas interlocuções cinematográficas com o mito.
The myth of the cave was written by Plato, at about two thousand years ago and it still brings current reflections, as basis and inspiration for some works, mostly being a philosophical, political and social reflection, which was the intention of the Greek philosopher while writing about it on his book titled Republic. However, the myth was considered the representation of reality by virtue of its relationship with literature. Consequently, in the cinematography work, Room (2015), dialogues with the work by Plato were noticed. From analyzing the works, it was thought how the reality is being represented on both constructions. Thus, the present research aims to analyze by the comparative method, the representation of reality in Plato's Myth of the caveand the movie Room (2015) by Lenny Abrahamson. Starting from the theoretical presuppositions of Compagnon (1998) this article, through bibliographical research, will present the relation between literature and reality. Subsequently, it will bring some cinematic interlocutions with the myth and observe relevant characteristics between them.
