Neste artigo, discutem-se políticas de remoção e reassentamento urbano, a partirde pesquisa de campo qualitativa com uma população em área de risco, selecionadapara ser reassentada em outro local. Primeiramente, contextualizam-se as políticaspúblicas de habitação, em suas diretrizes nacionais e em sua aplicação no municípiopesquisado. Em seguida, investigam-se os sentidos atribuídos à sua casa, ao bairro eàs relações de vizinhança por moradores, ameaçados de remoção. A partir da análisedas falas obtidas na pesquisa de campo, discute-se o que as experiências e significaçõeselaboradas por esses sujeitos sociais podem indicar a respeito das políticas de remoçãoe reassentamento urbano.
In this article, we discuss removal policies and urban resettlement using a qualitative field research in a risk area with a population selected to be resettled elsewhere. We first contextualize public housing policies according to national guidelines, and their application in the researched municipality. Following, we present an investigation with residents threatened with removal, regarding the meanings they attribute to house, neighborhood, and neighborhood relations. From the analysis of statements obtained in the field research, we discuss what the experiences and meanings produced by these social subjects may indicate about removal policies and urban resettlement.
