O trabalho toma a videoperformance Tierra, de Regina José Galindo (Guatemala), como referência para refletir sobre a citação de acontecimentos sociais traumáticos em criações artísticas atuais. Normalmente relegados ao esquecimento, tais acontecimentos passam a ser restituídos ao espaço de um imaginário coletivo nestas criações, conformando poéticas políticas e memórias de trauma. Isto posto, articula-se aqui o conceito de memória traumática, da pesquisadora Diana Taylor, com o pensamento de autores que permeiam teorias e críticas relacionadas à cultura, à arte e à memória, como Andreas Huyssen, Georges Didi-Huberman e Walter Benjamin.
The article takes Regina José Galindo’s videoperformance Tierra, as a reference to reflect on the citation of traumatic social events in current artistic creations. Normally led to oblivion, such events are restored to the space of a collective imaginary in these creations, forming political poetics and memories of trauma. Thus, the concept of traumatic memory by the researcher Diana Taylor is articulated with the thinking of authors that permeate theories and critiques related to culture, art and memory, such as Andreas Huyssen, Georges Didi-Hu-berman and Walter Benjamin
