Em 1968, o Teatro dos Universitário de São Paulo (TUSP) monta Os fuzis de Dona Tereza Carrar, adaptação do texto de Brecht, com direção do cenógrafo e arquiteto Flávio Império. O espetáculo, embora esquecido na história do teatro no Brasil, teve grande repercussão no período. Um coro composto por dez mulheres que replicavam na plateia a Mãe Carrar do palco foi das intervenções mais inventivas no texto original. A nova proposição estética que transforma o texto original é reveladora da estrutura de produção do grupo e foi determinante para o objetivo de inserir a encenação nos debates sobre a necessidade da participação política frente ao avanço do terror instituído com o golpe de 1964.

In 1968, the Theater of the Universitarian of São Paulo stage the play - Os fuzis da Dona Tereza Carrar, adapted from the text of Brecht and directed by Flávio Império. The play, although forgotten in the history of theater in Brazil, had great repercussion in the period. A chorus of ten women who replicated among the audience the Mother Carrar from the stage was one of the most inventive interventions in the original text. The new aesthetic proposition that transforms the original text reveals the production structure of the group and was decisive for the purpose of inserting the staging in the debates on the need of taking a stance against the rise of the terror instituted with the coup of 1964.
