O Turismo Rural e gastronômico constitui uma opção adotada pelo agricultor familiar para diversificação de suas atividades econômicas, no meio rural, propiciando também novas dinâmicas a este espaço. O isolamento social abalou substancialmente principalmente o setor turístico, o que demandou novas adaptações no tocante às normas de funcionamento de espaços e equipamentosturísticos. O trabalho tem por objetivo avaliar quais as estratégias e adequações dos proprietáriosde estabelecimentos localizados na Região da Quarta Colônia de Santa Maria –RS quanto à manutenção de seus restaurantes, bares e afins durante este período de pandemia. A metodologia consistiu em uma abordagem bibliográfica e documental, exploratória e descritiva, com idas a campo. Os principais resultados alcançados pela investigação sugerem que o meio rural está sendo visto como lugar que conjuga qualidade de vida e lazer com a intensa cultura identitária, onde a colonização determinou características próprias. O território da Quarta Colônia para intensificar seu potencial turístico deverá transpor alguns obstáculos como: maior engajamento do poder público, maior receptividade da comunidade e aceitação de novas alternativas de geração de trabalho aliado a melhorias na infra-estrutura geral.
Rural and gastronomic tourism is an option adopted by the family farmer to diversify their economic activities in rural areas, also providing newdynamics to this space. Social isolation has substantially shaken the tourism sector, which required further adaptations regarding the rules of operation of tourist spaces and quipamentos. The work aims to evaluate the strategies and adaptations ofthe owners of establishments located in the Region of the Fourth Colony of Santa Maria -RS regarding the maintenance of their restaurants, bars and the like during this pandemic period. The methodology consisted of a bibliographic and documentary approach, exploratory and descriptive, with field tripes. The main results achieved by the research suggest that the rural environment is being seen as a place that combines quality of life and leisure with intense identity culture, where colonization has determined itsown characteristics. The territory of the Fourth Colony to intensify its tourism potential should overcome some obstacles such as: greater engagement of the public power, greater receptivity of the community and acceptance of new alternatives of generation of work combined with improvements in the general infrastructure.
