Neste artigo destaco aspectos relacionados ao Método Suzuki de Treinamento de Atores (Suzuki Method of Actor Training), criado pelo diretor teatral japonês Tadashi Suzuki. A escrita se fundamenta na perspectiva de um diretor teatral brasileiro – o próprio autor deste texto – proveniente de sua investigação continuada sobre o referido método, intensificada na experiência vivida em Toga, um vilarejo do interior do Japão onde está sediada a SCOT (Suzuki Company of Toga). São enfatizadas características do modo de vida dos integrantes da SCOT a partir de uma noção de atividade sagrada entendida como atitude de entrega e devoção em torno do projeto teatral do qual fazem parte.
I present in this article some aspects about the Suzuki Method of Actor Training, created by the Japanese theatre director Tadashi Suzuki. This text is based under the perspective of a Brazilian theatre director – the own author of this text – from his investigations about the Suzuki Method which was intensified on the experience lived in Toga, a little town inland of Japan where SCOT has a headquarter. Here are specified some qualities about the way of life of SCOT´s members from a conception of sacred activity, understood as a devotional attitude around the theatre project that they are engaged.
