A Defensoria Pública do Paraná, como instrumento direto do regime democrático, possui a educação em direitos humanos entre suas atribuições ordinárias. Este trabalho tem como intuito relacionar a educação em direitos humanos e o efetivo acesso à justiça, uma vez que o desconhecimento é a primeira barreira que precisa ser pessoalmente superada por um indivíduo para que ele reivindique seus direitos. O conhecimento se fundamenta tanto em saber quais são seus direitos, como quais as ferramentas existentes para exigi-los. Ainda, a pesquisa analisa as atividades desenvolvidas pela Defensoria Pública do Paraná voltadas à educação em direitos humanos, identificando os projetos multidisciplinares com caráter educacional já desenvolvidos pela instituição e o perfil desses programas.
As an instrument of direct democracy, the Public Defensorship of Paraná holds human rights education among its ordinary attributions. This work aims to relate human rights education and effective access to justice. To claim their rights, individuals must primarily overcome the barrier of ignorance to both understand which are their legal rights and le- arn how to demand them. This study also sought to analyze the performance of the Public Defensoship of Paraná regarding human rights education by verifying the educational projects developed by it and the profile of these projects.
