Neste trabalho, apresentamos um pequeno estudo sobre os modelos de Malthus e de Verhulst, precursores do estudo da dinâmica populacional. Utilizamos o Método dos Mínimos Quadrados, com o objetivo de obter os ajustes por uma reta de regressão e por duas curvas: a exponencial e a sigmoide, dos dados disponibilizados pelo IBGE da população da cidade de Cruz das Almas. Além disso, vista a ausência de realização do Censo IBGE, no ano de 2020, foi feita uma comparação da estimativa dada pelo IBGE com os ajustes obtidos.
In this work, we present a small study on the Malthus andVerhulst models, precursors of the study of population dy-namics. We used the Least Squares Method, in order toobtain the adjustments by a regression line and by twocurves: the exponential and the sigmoid, from the dataprovided by the IBGE for the population of the city of Cruzdas Almas. In addition, given the lack of completion of theIBGE Census in 2020, a comparison was made betweenthe estimate given by the IBGE with the adjustments ob-tained.
