Com interesse na compreensão do modo de fazer da Comissão Permanente de Heteroidentificação Complementar à Autodeclaração da UFBA(CPHA), busca-se, a partir deste texto, alinhar as narrativas das representações estudantis articuladas ao envolvimento institucional na universidade sobre a atuação da CPHA na apuração de denúncias de fraudes às cotas étnico-raciais. Foi utilizada para tanto, como percurso teórico-metodológico a etnometodologia e etnografia institucional, a partir de entrevistas compreensivas e diários de campo com representações estudantis envolvidas na atuação da CPHA. Ao final da pesquisa, apresenta interpretação que a implementação da CPHA na UFBA foi uma conquista tardia garantida pelo envolvimento do Movimento Estudantil na instituição universitária que tem corroborado para o processo de reconhecimento das fraudes às cotas étnico-raciais na universidade.

With an interest in understanding how the Permanent Commission for Hetero-identification Complementary to the Self-Declaration of the UFBA (CPHA) works, this text seeks to elaborate the narratives of the student representations articulated to the institutional involvement in the university about the performance of the CPHA in the investigation from reporting fraud to ethnic-racial quotas. For this purpose, ethnomethodology and institutional ethnography were used as a theoretical-methodological path, based on comprehensive interviews and field diaries with student representatives involved in the activities of the CPHA. At the end of the research, it presents an interpretation that the implementation of the CPHA at UFBA was a conquest belatedly delayed by the involvement of the Student Movement in the university institution that has corroborated the process of recognition of frauds to ethnic-racial quotas in the university.
