OBJETIVOS: O presente trabalho teve como objetivo verificar os impactos na saúde que a infecção pela Covid-19 pode causar em pacientes com vulnerabilidades psiquiátricas.
MÉTODOS: O estudo é de caráter descritivo, retrospectivo, considerado uma revisão integrativa de literatura, realizada através de uma busca de artigos originais, nas línguas inglesa, espanhola e portuguesa, disponibilizados na íntegra, publicados no período de dezembro de 2019 até julho de 2020 na base de dados Science Direct. As buscas serão realizadas nos meses de agosto, setembro e outubro de 2020, empregando os descritores: "Covid-19”, "Sertraline”, "Carbamazepine”, "Quetiapine”, "Pharmacological treatment”, "Psychiatry”, ”Psychotic”, e utilizando os operadores booleanos “AND” e ”OR”, onde deverão estar presentes em qualquer lugar no artigo.
RESULTADOS: O vírus SARS-CoV-2 pode exercer grande influência no Sistema Nervoso Central por meio de reações inflamatórias relacionadas ao metabolismo de neurotransmissores cerebrais, afetando especialmente pessoas com problemas de saúde mental devido à alta suscetibilidade ao estresse e à ansiedade, além do impacto emocional nos indivíduos proveniente da pandemia.
CONCLUSÕES: Diante desse exposto, as pesquisas nesse sentido são ferramentas importantes para a compreensão do contexto da saúde mental no âmbito da pandemia causada pela Covid-19 e para a realização de medidas que objetivem uma melhora na saúde pública relacionada a pacientes com transtornos mentais.
OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to verify the health impacts that Covid-19 infection can cause in patients with psychiatric vulnerabilities.
METHODS: The study is descriptive, retrospective, considered an integrative literature review, carried out through a search for original articles, in English, Spanish and Portuguese, available in full, published from December 2019 to July 2020 in the Science Direct database. Searches will be carried out in August, September and October 2020, using the descriptors: ‘Covid-19’, ‘Sertraline’, ‘Carbamazepine’, ‘Quetiapine’, ‘Pharmacological treatment’, ‘Psychiatry’, ‘Psychotic’, and using the Boolean operators “AND” and “OR”, which must be present anywhere in the article.
RESULTS: The SARS-CoV-2 virus can exert great influence on the Central Nervous System through inflammatory reactions related to the metabolism of brain neurotransmitters, especially affecting people with mental health problems due to their high susceptibility to stress and anxiety, in addition to the emotional impact on individuals from the pandemic.
CONCLUSIONS: Given the above, research in this regard is an important tool for understanding the context of mental health in the context of the pandemic caused by Covid-19 and for carrying out measures aimed at improving public health related to patients with mental disorders.
