O objetivo desta pesquisa é analisar a historiografia produzida nos últimos 20 anos sobre as mulheres na Amazônia Colonial portuguesa. Com o avanço do tempo e o surgimento de novas questões do presente, a historiografia apresenta novas perguntas e amplia seu campo de temas e metodologias no campo da História das Mulheres. A historiadora Maria Luiza Ugarte Pinheiro, em seu texto “Caminhos da história das mulheres no Amazonas” relembra que a contribuição de pesquisadores brasileiros para a história das mulheres se inicia a partir da década de 1980 possibilitando, a partir daí, o desdobramento de variados campos para pesquisa e contribuição historiográfica que antes não viam na figura da mulher uma possibilidade de representação. É essa uma das almejadas finalidades do trabalho: compreender a mulher como elemento importante no contexto da Amazônia Colonial Portuguesa e de que forma são construídas as narrativas sobre essas mulheres em obras mais recentes.
The aim of this research is to analyze the historiography produced in the last 20 years on women in the colonial Portuguese Amazon. With the passage of time and the emergence of new issues in the present, historiography is asking new questions and expanding its range of topics and methodologies in the field of women's history. The historian Maria Luiza Ugarte Pinheiro, in her text "Caminhos da história das mulheres no Amazonas" (Paths of Women's History in Amazonas), recalls that the contribution of Brazilian researchers to women's history began in the 1980s, allowing the development of different fields of research and historiographical contributions that previously did not consider the figure of women as a possibility for representation. This is one of the objectives of this work: to understand women as an important element in the context of Portuguese colonial Amazonia, and how narratives about these women are constructed in more recent works.
