Em Cruel amor, de Júlia Lopes de Almeida, apesar de ter como fio condutor uma comunidade de pescadores na praia de Copacabana, o foco narrativo está sobre as mulheres. É um romance com muitas possibilidades de análises, portanto o recorte deste trabalho está pautado na representação feminina, na figuração da protagonista Adda. Ela é uma jovem insubmissa às regras de um sistema que tende a oprimir as mulheres. Por conta disso, não é bem vista dentro do contexto social que integra. Essa pesquisa de caráter bibliográfico se valeu do texto Sociedade e individuo, de Norbert Elias. Umas das principais considerações a que este trabalho chegou foi a de que Júlia Lopes de Almeida privilegia em suas narrativas o feminino, com o intuito principal de ressaltar o protagonismo não só literário como também social das mulheres.
In Cruel Amor, by Júlia Lopes de Almeida, despite having as its main theme a community of fishermen on Copacabana beach, the narrative focus is on women. It is a novel with many possibilities for analysis, therefore the focus of this work is based on female representation, in the figuration of the protagonist Adda. She is a young woman who does not submit to the rules of a system that tends to oppress women. Because of this, she is not well regarded within the social context in which she is part. This bibliographical research used the text Sociedade e individuo, by Norbert Elias. One of the main considerations reached by this work was that Júlia Lopes de Almeida privileges the feminine in her narratives, with the main purpose of highlighting not only the literary but also the social protagonism of women.
