A presente pesquisa, teve como objetivo compreender como se dá a formação de relacionamentos conjugais nos tempo atuais, analisando quais são os critérios para a escolha de um parceiro na relação amorosa. A opção teórica para uma análise reflexiva deste assunto se centra nos estudos de alguns teóricos. Optou-se pela pesquisa de campo, quantitativa e qualitativa, definindo-se como método de coleta de dados a análise de questionários aplicados, que serviram de corpo básico da pesquisa para a verificação das hipóteses iniciais. Assim, a presente pesquisa contempla uma reflexão sobre o processo de escolha, mostrando como ele era antigamente e como foi, de uma certa forma, “evoluindo”, uma vez que outrora a mulher não tinha o direito de escolher com quem ela almejava casar-se. Hoje vemos como isso mudou. Esta pesquisa também apresenta as idéias de alguns autores com relação ao processo de escolha, mostrando porque escolhemos, quem escolhemos, evidenciando assim que, nem sempre, sabemos o verdadeiro motivo.
The present research aimed to understand how marital relationships are formed in the present day, analyzing the criteria for choosing a partner in a romantic relationship. The theoretical option for a reflective analysis of this subject focuses on the studies of some theorists. We opted for field research, both quantitative and qualitative, defining the data collection method as the analysis of questionnaires, which served as the basic body of the research to verify the initial hypotheses. Thus, this research contemplates a reflection on the process of choice, showing how it was in the past and how it has, in a certain way, “evolved”, since in the past women did not have the right to choose who they wanted to marry. Today we see how this has changed. This research also presents the ideas of some authors regarding the process of choice, showing why we choose and who we choose, thus evidencing that we do not always know the real reason.
