Outlining on this work a look at the reality of human ephemerality through relations between the symbolic and real of death. To understand the transition from the monumental cemetery to the cemetery garden, a historical, iconographic study about São João Batista Cemetery and Parque das Palmeiras Garden Cemitery, both located in the city of Três Corações/MG.
