The study focuses on to make some interpretations about the City of God, as
regards the aspect of the resistance of the narrative. We will assume that the
narrative discourse of the novel by Paulo Lins discusses the theory of resistance,
and critic Alfredo Bosi Ernesto Sabato. Therefore, we will use this operational
concept for analyzing the degree of sympathy and regret at the end
narratological. As we begin our work we will try to reflect on some
philosophical aspects of resistance in the narratives and to verify how this type
of behavior. Thus, we will try to build some parallels to the interpretation
regarding the condition of the narrator to violence and criminal episodes. In
another item, we will weave metaphorical analysis between the toys of an
amusement park compared with the community City of God. At the end we will
examine short grafts of the novel, playing them on the perspective of resistance.
The contribution of their work seeks to deepen interpretations from the
perspective of resistance as a theoretical tool of analysis.
