Este trabalho analisa o prefácio da obra Um certo Capitão Rodrigo intitulado Visita, do escritor gaúcho Érico VerÃssimo, com o objetivo de relacioná-lo à s teorias do duplo em uma narrativa fantástica. Elucidam-se, inicialmente, os conceitos de Fantástico e duplo, a partir de teóricos como Mello (2000), Rodrigues (1988) e Todorov (1975; 1979), dentre outros. Após elaborada uma sÃntese do objeto de estudo, algumas relações entre as teorias abordadas e o texto selecionado são realizadas.
VISITA: THE FANTASTIC MEETING OF ÉRICO VERÃSSIMO
This article analyzes the preface of the book Um certo Capitão Rodrigo, called A Visita, written by the southern Brazilian author Érico VerÃssimo, in order to relate it to the theories of the double in the fantastic narrative. Firstly, this article explains the concepts of fantastic literature and double, from the perspective of theoreticians like Mello (2000) and Todorov, among others. Then, after an elaborate synthesis of the subject matter, some relations between the discussed theories and the selected text are made.
