Podemos afirmar que, graças a SAUSSURE, BLOOMFIELD e CHOMSKY, o campo de
estudos sobre o desenvolvimento da língua foi se tornando, a partir do final do
século XIX/início do século XX, cada vez mais independente; e, apesar de
guardar relações estreitas com várias outras ciências, o largo espectro de
fenômenos que estão implícitos na linguagem articulada tornam a lingüística uma
ciência peculiar e desafiadora, não se confundindo com nenhuma outra.

Resumo Inglês:

We can state that, for the bless of Saussure, Bloomfield and a Chomsky, the study
about the language development has become, from the end of 19th century and
beginning of the twentieth’s, more and more independent; and, even though it
makes straitght relationship with many other sciences, the wide specter of
fenomena that are in the undergrounds of the articulated languages makes the
Linguistics a carachteristc science, not being misunderstood with no other subject.
