O trabalho objetivou caracterizar e analisar o conflito socioambiental ocasionado pela implantação do aterro
sanitário no municÃpio de Puxinanã-PB. Foi utilizada uma pesquisa-ação, juntamente à pesquisa bibliográfica,
registros fotográficos da área de construção e de entorno do aterro sanitário. A pesquisa foi realizada no mês de
outubro de 2010. Foram aplicados 30 questionários aos alunos, pais e funcionários do Colégio AgrÃcola Joaquim
Limeira de Queiroz em Puxinanã. Com a aplicação do questionário e de explicações sobre o que é um lixão e o
que vem a ser um aterro sanitário 94% dos entrevistados passaram a concordar com a implantação do aterro. O
conflito estabelecido em relação à implantação do aterro sanitário em Puxinanã foi eficientemente conciliado.
The study aimed to characterize and analyze the socio-environmental conflict caused by the implementation of
the sanitary landfill in the Puxinanã city-PB. Was used an action research, along with photographs research of
the construction area and around the sanitary landfill. The research was carried out in October 2010. Were
applied 30 questionnaires to students, parents and employees of the Agricultural College Joaquim Limeira de
Queiroz in Puxinanã city. With the application of the questionnaire and explanations on the what is a dump and
that has to be a sanitary landfill 94% of respondents now agree with the landfill site. The conflict set around the
implementation of the sanitary landfill in Puxinanã been effectively reconciled.
