Este texto busca resgatar a elaboração e desenvolvimento do termo gênero, que, por seu caráter polissêmico e histórico, é estabelecido como conceito e/ou categoria de análise, sobretudo no âmbito da produção teórica do feminismo, movimento social que forneceu as bases para a construção do conceito de gênero e a sua incorporação aos estudos da contemporaneidade
This paper aims at rescuing the elaboration and development of the term gender. By virtue of its polissemy and history this term has been chiefly established as a concept and/or analysis category under the theoretical production of the feminist scope. Feminism is regarded as the social movement which has provided the bases to the construction of gender and its incorporation to the studies in the contemporaneity.
