Chegamos ao fim da presente década após assistirmos a consideráveis transformações no mundo: desde os graves conflitos armados no oriente médio, passando pelas crises financeiras, até as novas formas de se informar, comunicar e relacionar. PrincÃpios antigos, como o do cuidado de si, debatido desde a Antiguidade, ganham novas acepções na contemporaneidade. Nessa perspectiva, propomos, como matéria deste texto, discutir a conversão, na atualidade, do ato de cultivo de si em prática tirânica e neurastênica, para a qual concorrem como elementos desencadeadores os realities shows e as redes sociais, vez que espetacularizam práticas cotidianas até então consideradas banais.
We have come to the end of the present decade after attending considerable transformations in the world, ever since the serious armed conflicts in the Middle East, passing by the financial crises, up to the new ways of informing, communicating and relating. Old principles, as the self care, debated since the Antiquity, gain new meanings in the present times. In this perspective, this text discusses the conversion of the act of cultivating oneself in a tyrannical and neurasthenic practice, emphasized by the reality shows and the social nets, as they empower everyday activities so far taken as simples ones.
