Estudo descritivo e informações de natureza bibliográficas, com dados obtidos por meio de survey e analisados a partir da aplicação de estatÃstica descritiva, num primeiro momento, discute-se o papel do profissional contábil nas organizações, principalmente seu campo de atuação e as exigências do mercado de trabalho, em relação à s funções de contador e, no segundo, investiga as perspectivas profissionais dos estudantes, e se eles têm definida a especialidade de atuação depois de formado já durante a graduação, numa amostra de 144 estudantes de Ciências Contábeis. Maioria do genero feminino, as escolhas recaem nas especialidades que acreditam com as maiorea possibilidades de estabilidade financeira e profissional. A internet e a televisão surgiu como destaque nas atividades que eles ocupam o seu tempo livre e ou se mantêm informados.
Study descriptive and information from nature bibliographic, with data obtained through survey and analyzed by applying descriptive statistics. At first, makes a discussion on the role of the professional accounting in the organizations, their field of action and demands of the job market in relation to the functions of accountant and the second investigated the career prospects of students, and if they have defined the specialty of work after graduating already during graduation, in a sample of 144 Accounting students. Most of the female gender, the choices are in specialties that they believe greater opportunities for professional and financial stability.
