governo Vargas, valores antinômicos
circularam socialmente, como aqueles
que envolviam o culto ao trabalho
regular e metódico e sua negação.
Isso se retratou inclusive na
produção musical da época, que, de
uma forma ou de outra, tomou parte
ativa no debate que então se instalou
e que oscilava entre a afirmação do
batente e a glorificação da batucada.
