No presente artigo, pretendemos analisar o(s) ethos revelado(s) no discurso da professora de Educação Básica do Estado do Rio Grande do Norte, Amanda Gurgel, pronunciado em uma audiência pública na Assembleia Legislativa do Estado, considerando os seus possÃveis interlocutores e as condições de produção do discurso. Para tanto, buscamos fundamento na Teoria da Argumentação no Discurso ou Nova Retórica, de Perelman e Tyteca (2005) e nos estudos de Charaudeau (2006) e Maingueneau (1993) sobre a noção de ethos polÃtico. Os resultados obtidos demonstram que a professora utiliza, especialmente, a estratégia argumentativa de provocação, marca principal de seu discurso, revelando vários ethos caracterÃsticos de discursos polÃticos, tais como ethos de identificação, seriedade, humanidade e solidariedade, constituÃdos ao longo de todo o discurso.
In this article, we analyze (s) revealed ethos (s) in the speech of Professor of Basic Education of the State of Rio Grande do Norte, Amanda Gurgel, delivered at a public hearing in the State Legislature, considering their possible interlocutors and conditions of discourse production. To this end, we seek plea in Argumentation Theory in Discourse and New Rhetoric of Perelman and Tyteca (2005) and in studies of Charaudeau (2006) and Maingueneauu (1993) on the notion of political ethos. The results show that the teacher uses mainly argumentative strategy of provocation, the main brand of his speech, revealing several distinctive ethos of political speeches, such as identification ethos, integrity, humanity and solidarity, made throughout speech.
