Resumo Português:

O presente trabalho adotou como orientação teórico-metodológica a pesquisa de natureza qualitativa,
tendo como procedimento metodológico a pesquisa bibliográfica. Objetivou-se analisar a Educação a
Distância, direta ou indiretamente, em seus diferentes aspectos: teórico, social, histórico e político.
Com este estudo verifica-se como a Educação a Distância se potencializou e continua se
potencializando, mediante a sua própria historicidade e desenvolvimento, às tecnologias desenvolvidas
e utilizadas, aos aportes legislativos promulgados a partir da década de 1990 no Brasil, bem como
algumas proposições, no sentido, de contribuir para a discussão nas políticas de implementação de
cursos desta modalidade.

Resumo Inglês:

The present work adopted as theorical and methodological guidance the research of qualitative nature,
having as methodological procedure the bibliographical research. It aimed at analysing the Distance
Education, direct or indirectly, in its different aspects: theorical, social, historical and political. With
this study it is verified how the Distance Education became strong and continues to get stronger, by
means of its own historicity and development, to the used and developed technologies, to the
legislative contributions promulgated from the decade of 1990 in Brazil, as well as some propositions,
in the sense of, contributing for the discussion in the policies of implementing the courses of this
modality.
