Uma análise da medida de segurança no Direito revela que, apesar da aparente coerência teórica da construção, há nela inúmeras contradições quando examinados os recursos de que se utiliza. Da mesma forma, ocorre com uma observação histórica da sanção que indica mais a necessidade de tornar invisível o doente mental e menos a de promover uma desejável cura/melhora dessas pessoas. O tema emerge ocasionalmente produzindo intensas reações, mas submerge nas dificuldades de um enfretamento consequente.
An analysis of the security measure in law reveals that, despite the apparent theoretical coherence of the construction, there are numerous contradictions when the resources used are examined. The same happens with a historical observation of the sanction that indicates more the need to make the mentally ill invisible and less to promote a desirable cure/improvement of criminals with mental illnesses. The theme emerges occasionally, producing intense reactions, but submerges in the difficulties of a consistent confrontation.
