O suicídio e sua tentativa são a última etapa de um processo construído diariamente, sendo possível a observação de indícios do comportamento suicida no cotidiano desses sujeitos. O luto dos sobreviventes (enlutados) é um fenômeno complexo e multifatorial, assim como o próprio comportamento suicida, e requer a posvenção, cuidados aos sobreviventes para amenizar o sofrimento causado pela perda. Neste contexto, este artigo teve como objetivo analisar o comportamento suicida de uma jovem e a posvenção a partir do documentário Elena. As cenas selecionadas foram transcritas e a análise ocorreu a partir de indicadores em dialogo com a Epistemologia Qualitativa, resultando nas categorias: (1) Em busca de pistas sobre o comportamento de Elena e (2) A perda de Elena segundo as memórias de Petra: da crueldade à compreensão sobre a morte. Identificou-se elementos do luto infantil por suicídio de uma irmã que podem contribuir para estudos nessa área, como a manifestação de querer morrer, evitar falar sobre a irmã, perceber que a mãe poderia morrer também, entre outros. O luto materno está presente no documentário, reforçando a importância de estratégias de suporte aos familiares, a chamada posvenção.

Suicide and its attempt are the last stage of a process built daily, making it possible to observe signs of suicidal behavior in the daily lives of these subjects. The bereavement of survivors (bereaved) is a complex and multifactorial phenomenon, as well as suicidal behavior itself, and requires postvention, care for survivors to ease the suffering caused by the loss. In this context, this article aimed to analyze the suicidal behavior of a young woman and postvention from the documentary Elena. The selected scenes were transcribed and the analysis took place from indicators in dialogue with Qualitative Epistemology, resulting in the categories: (1) Looking for clues about Elena’s behavior and (2) The loss of Elena according to Petra’s memories: from cruelty to the understanding about death. Elements of child mourning for the suicide of a sister that can contribute to studies in this area were identified, such as the manifestation of wanting to die, avoiding talking about the sister, realizing that the mother could die too, among others. Maternal grief is present in the documentary, reinforcing the importance of family support strategies, the so-called postvention.
