Apresentamos neste artigo uma análise qualitativa da atuação de intérpretes de língua de sinais (ILS) em quatro espetáculos teatrais nos quais obser-vamos como a atividade de interpretação aconte-ceu. O objetivo geral desta pesquisa é de discutir o lugar não apenas físico, mas ideológico que ILS ocupam em apresentações teatrais. Fundamenta-dos na dialogia proposta por Bakhtin e o Círculo, discutimos que o espetáculo teatral é formado por um conjunto de textos inter-relacionados; e na análise observamos nos quatro espetáculos questões relacionadas ao lugar enunciativo e, portanto, ideológico, dos intérpretes de língua de sinais no teatro. Discutimos essas questões tanto na porção extraverbal como na porção verbal dos enunciados, que ficam mais evidentes, principal-mente em três elementos: no material informativo e de divulgação dos espetáculos, nas respostas ao questionário dos ILS que participaram da pesquisa e nas escolhas tradutórias/interpretativas que se relacionam com o posicionamento em cena.
In this article, we present a qualitative analysis of four theatrical performances in-terpreted by SLIs. The main objective of this paper is to discuss the place not only physical, but ideological that sign language interpre-ters (SLI) occupy in theatri-cal performances. Based on the dialogue proposed by Bakhtin and the Circle, we discuss that a set of inter-related texts forms the per-formance. In the analysis of four theater presentations, we observe issues related to the enunciative and, therefo-re, the ideological position of sign language interpreters in the theater. We discussed these questions in both the extraverbal and verbal por-tions of the utterances. It was more evident mainly in three elements: in the information material and the disclosure of the shows, in the responses to the questionnaire of the SLI who participated in the research, and in the transla-tional/interpretative choices that relate to positioning on the scene.
