Insere-se a análise da cultura es-colar no crescente interesse pelos estudos culturais. A cultura escolar é marcadamente burocratizada, normativa e valoriza a homogeneidade de ritmos, processos e lingua-gens. Neste contexto, as culturas de minorias e entre elas se destaca no texto a cultura dos surdos entendida como a cultura de uma minoria lingüística têm dificuldade de afirmar sua identidade. Na conclusão se indica a importância de se romper com o fechamento da escola em relação às minorias culturais que habitam o seu interior e acolher os diferentes significados e sentidos atuantes no seu cotidiano.
School culture and the construction of identities The paper inserts the analysis of the school culture in the growing interest for cultural studies. School culture is remarkably bureaucratized, normative and values homogene ity of rhythms, processes and languages. ln this context, cultures of minorities among them stands out in the text the culture of the deaf ones, understood as the culture of a linguistic minority find difficulties in affirming their identity. The conclusion indicates the importance of preventig the closure of the school, in relation to the cultural minorities that inhabit its interior, and of welcoming the existing diffe-rent meanings and senses felts m its daily routine.
