The 2015 Code of Civil Procedure changed the effects of the res judicata, which used to bind only the parties and the claim as the civil law tradition. The issue preclusion, instituted in the new Code, brings a new perspective to the res judicata, which must be understood as a State authority and respected by all, having effects even to third parties.
