RESUMO: O cenário contemporâneo, diante das adversidades provocadas pela pandemia, é de verdadeiro caos sanitário e humanitário. Neste contexto, o tema da política de saúde para os povos indígenas torna-se uma questão ainda mais polêmica e delicada, exigindo uma atenção redobrada aos setores responsáveis. Assim, o presente artigo tem como objetivo fomentar a reflexão acerca do impacto provocado pela pandemia de Covid-19 nas comunidades indígenas do Brasil. Seguindo este ideário, o problema de pesquisa indica a seguinte indagação: em que medida o Estado Brasileiro está (ou não) cumprindo suas responsabilidades legais de atenção ao acesso à saúde para os indígenas? Através de um estudo bibliográfico, seguindo o método dedutivo, verificou-se que, ainda que apresentadas inúmeras ações governamentais para a proteção à saúde dos povos indígenas, a consolidação deste direito ainda não é efetiva, ou seja, há atualmente um agravamento nas condições de saúde – para além dos problemas já enfrentados, sobreveio a pandemia e agravou a situação sanitária nas e das comunidades indígenas.

ABSTRACT: The contemporary scenario, in the face of the adversities caused by the pandemic, is one of true health and humanitarian chaos. In this context, the issue of health policy for indigenous peoples becomes an even more controversial and delicate issue, requiring increased attention from the responsible sectors. Thus, this article aims to encourage reflection on the impact caused by the Covid-19 pandemic on indigenous communities in Brazil. Following this idea, the research problem indicates the following question: to what extent is the Brazilian State (or not) fulfilling its legal responsibilities of attention to access to health for indigenous people? Through a bibliographical study, following the deductive method, it was verified that, although numerous governmental actions are presented for the protection of the health of indigenous peoples, the consolidation of this right is still not effective, that is, there is currently an aggravation in the conditions of health – in addition to the problems already faced, the pandemic came and worsened the health situation in and of indigenous communities.
