Ellen White e Paulo Freire viveram em períodos diferentes da história com realidades e contextos territoriais, sociais e culturais distintos. Porém, possuíam visão educacional vanguardista
semelhante, imersos em seu contexto imediato, mas com a forte tendência a se reinventar/reorganizar sempre no futuro. Diante disso a pergunta que nos fzemos foi: quais os pontos em comum entre a Educação Popular de Paulo Freire e os escritos sobre educação de Ellen White? Este artigo se propõe a compreender brevemente a maneira como esses dois autores entendem/enxergam/concebem o processo educacional tendo em vista a fgura do/a aluno/a, do/a professor/a, da escola e o método, ao passo que propõe também ressaltar a relevância da obra da autora e do autor para a pedagogia atual e para as ciências da religião.
Ellen White and Paulo Freire lived in different periods of history with different socio-cultural realities, but had similar avant-garde educational views, immersed in their immediate context, but with a strong tendency to always reinvent and reorganize their thoughts in the future. Therefore, the question that emergesis: what similarities are there between Paulo Freire’s Popular Education and Ellen White’s writings on education? This article aims to understand a little of how these two authors perceive, observe and understand the educational process, considering the student, the teacher, the school and the methodology. In addition, this study also seeks to promote the relevance of the work of these authors for education in the present.
