O presente artigo aborda questões inquietantes e litigiosas sobre as Escolas Bilíngues de Surdos que são espaços que propiciam formação e constituição de comunidades linguísticas conforme emanam as legislações internacionais e nacionais, mas que são constantemente rotuladas como espaços de segregação. O artigo tem o propósito de levar a debates necessários e que levem à reflexão por todos os envolvidos com a Educação de Surdos e com as outras modalidades de ensino que moldam a Educação Brasileira.
This paper addresses unsettling and litigious issues about the Bilingual Deaf Schools which are primarily defined as spaces where the constitution of a linguistic community becomes possible and are created, as it has been oriented by international and national laws. Despite of all this, bilingual schools are still com- prehended and labeled as spaces of segregation. This paper aims to do a necessary debate that may promo- te reflection to all the professionals that are found involved in Deaf Education and the others educational modalities that compose the Brazilian Education System.
