O aspecto fundamental do modo humano de, existir reside no seu envolvimento pennanente com tudo aquilo que o cerca. A explicitação do homem como ser-no-mundo nos remete a Heidegger e a toda tra-dição fenomenológica existencial. O mundo que diante de nós se apresenta tem na sonoridade um de seus aspectos constituintes. Os sons adquirem significados no interior da relação que com eles estabelecemos e, ao serem vivenciados, nos permitem compreender o contexto de sua pertinência como também possibilita o nosso acesso ao mundo do outro. Os significados surgidos nesta relação também definem o nosso estar-no-mundo que é a condição de onde se nutrem os aspectos psíquicos e comportamentais que são tradicionalmente estudados pela psicologia. A privação da possibilidade de ouvir em todas as suas formas limitam o nosso envolvimento com o mundo e, conseqüentemente, o nosso pleno desenvolvimento. A psicologia não pode oferecer respostas à problemática do ouvir e nem os aspectos comportamentais nele envolvidos se constituem como objetos de interesse da fonoaudiologia. Torna-se importante uma aproximação entre estas ciências resultando no desenvolvimento da Psicoaudiologia que pode desempenhar um papel relevante na produção de conhecimento desta esfera do existir humano.
The fundamental aspect of the human way of living is in its permanent involvement witli everything that surrounds it. The reason of the man as a being-in-the-world reminds us of Heidegger and of all existential and phenomenolo gical tradition. The world that is bef ore us has in sonority one of its inner aspects. The sounds get meanings in the inside of the relationship that we have with then and, when they are lived, they help us understand the context of its exlstence a11:4 it also makes possible our access to the other's world. The meanings that come in this relationship also define our being-in-the-world, which is the condition in which the psychological and behavior aspects are fed; they are traditionally stydied by psychology. The lack of possibility of listening in all its ways puts a limit in our involvement with the world and, consequently, our whole development. Psychology can 't give any answers to the listening problem and nor to the behavior aspects involved with it, which are the objects of interest of the phonoaudiology. A closer connection between these sciences is very important; the result would be the development of the Psychoaudiology that may have an important role in the production of knowledge in this size of the human existence.
