IDENTIDADE DE IDOSOS APRENDIZES DE LÍNGUA ESTRANGEIRA: ALGUMAS CONSIDERAÇÕES

Resumo Português:

O artigo visa compreender como se constitui a identidade social de idosos na
contemporaneidade, considerando as diferentes imagens da velhice. As pessoas idosas
constituem um segmento da sociedade que vem adquirindo mais visibilidade em função da
maior longevidade. Os idosos, sujeitos desse estudo, são participantes do Programa da
Universidade Aberta à Terceira Idade – UNATI/UNIOESTE e aprendizes de Língua Alemã.
Nesse sentido, discutem-se algumas implicações decorrentes do contato com diferentes
discursos linguísticos e universos culturais. Esse trabalho apresenta uma abordagem
descritiva, destacando os aspectos pertinentes ao aprendizado da Língua Estrangeira. Dentre
algumas características, salientam-se a motivação, o trabalho em equipe e a busca do
conhecimento linguístico e cultural responsáveis por uma aprendizagem efetiva, na
perspectiva da educação permanente.

The current article intends to comprehend how it is constituted the elderly social
identity nowadays, considering the different old age images. Elderly consists of a segment of
society that has been visualized because of a higher longevity. Elderly, subjects of this study,
are participants of the University Program opened to the old-age people –
UNATI/UNIOESTE and apprentices of German Language. Thus, some implications are
discussed due to the contact with different linguistic discourses and cultural universes. This
paper introduces a descriptive approach, highlighting the relevant aspects to the Foreign
Language learning. Among some characteristics, motivation, teamwork and the search for
linguistic and cultural knowledge are pointed as responsible for an effective learning, in a
permanent education perspective.
