In this article we discuss elements that intensified the movement of the professional identity (IP) of teachers who teach mathematics (PEM) participants in the "Community of Practice of Teachers who Teach and Learn Mathematics - CoP-PAEM", cultivated in the context of the project "Mathematics Education of Teachers who Teach Mathematics", in the Education Observatory Program - OBEDUC. To do so, we analyze the CoP-PAEM practice, considering the community constitution and dynamics between 2011 and 2014, negotiations of meaning and the repertoire produced and shared by the group in the project Study of Proportional Reasoning. This analysis evidenced the learning trajectories of its members and the elements of this formation context that intensified the movement of constitution of the PI, through interaction, reflection and the construction of relations of respect and trust, which allowed for different forms of participation. This study showed that the structure and dynamics of CoPs provide the openness and flexibility needed to encompass the complexity of the learning processes and the constitution of the IP of PEM, and the identified elements revealed clues as to what is need and what is possible to promote and include in the teacher education contexts to enhance these processes.
