Este artigo foi produzido a partir de uma pesquisa desenvolvida no INES, com os alunos do Núcleo de Artes, e teve como objetivo compreender as articulações simbólicas que movem o pensamento destes alunos surdos e suas expressões plásticas mediante o estímulo de mitos e algumas obras de arte, com o intuito de contribuir para o enriquecimento de seu imaginário. O trabalho foi desenvolvido através dos mitos Faetonte e Hefesto. Chegamos a conclusão de que é relevante manter em uma instituição educacional para surdos o espaço onde a arte e os mitos possam ser utilizados. As imagens “falam” e podem ser trazidas a consciência para que se tornem ação.
This article is based on a research which was developed at INES with students from the art center. Its aim is to understand the symbolic articulations that are present in these deaf students’ minds and their plastic expressions through myth stimulus and some practical works of art. 'e intention was to enrich their imaginary. 'is work was developed through the myths of “Faetonte” and “Hefesto”. The conclusion we have come to is that it is relevant to keep a space for myths and art in an educational institution. 'e images that appear in the works made by those students “talk” on behalf of them and can be brought into conscience to be turned into actions.
