A presente pesquisa trata da inclusão de alunos surdos nas instituições escolares. Tal inclusão passa necessariamente pelo conhecimento da Língua Brasileira de Sinais – LIBRAS, que vem abrindo caminhos para que as pessoas surdas sejam respeitadas e se integrem ao meio em que vivem. Este trabalho se justifica pela necessidade de ampliar e aprofundar a discussão a respeito do acolhimento e permanência dos surdos no ambiente escolar, que embora garantidos por lei, ainda são falhos, possivelmente pela dificuldade de modificar parâmetros em relação ao que se espera da escola. Mais ainda, faltam à grande maioria das escolas professores com conhecimento em LIBRAS, necessário para receber alunos surdos no ensino regular. Esses são alguns dos questionamentos que mostram a complexidade da questão. A proposta deste trabalho é produzir um filme que possa sensibilizar quanto à necessidade de otimização do acolhimento ao aluno surdo e da forma como ele é incluído no ambiente escolar, enfatizando a importância de aprender a lidar com o Outro, com a diferença.

This research deals with the inclusion of deaf students in educational institutions. Such inclusion necessarily involves knowledge of the Brazilian Sign Language - LIBRAS, which has been opening avenues for deaf people to be respected and to integrate in their environment. This work is justified by the need to broaden and deepen the discussion about the welcome and stay of deaf students in the school environment, which, although guaranteed by law, is still flawed, possibly due to the difficulty of modifying parameters in relation to what is expected of the school. Moreover, most schools lack teachers with the necessary knowledge of LIBRAS to receive deaf students in mainstream education. These questions show the complexity of the issue. The purpose of this work is to produce a film which can touch emotionally so as to raise awareness about the need for optimization of the welcome and staying conditions of the deaf students and the way they are included in the school environment, emphasizing the importance of learning to deal with the Other, with the difference.
