A presente pesquisa, de caráter documental, apresenta uma análise referente ao bloco dos conteúdos de geometria propostos pelos Parâmetros para a Educação Básica do estado de Pernambuco para o processo de ensino nos anos iniciais do ensino fundamental. Analisou-se sob a ótica da teoria de Van Hiele do desenvolvimento do pensamento geométrico, em especial do nível 1 (visualização ou reconhecimento), quais as expectativas de aprendizagens do documento curricular que exploram a percepção visual de alunos nos anos iniciais como um fator para a construção do conhecimento geométrico. Por meio das análises de resultados se identificou que na devida etapa de escolaridade as expectativas de aprendizagens dispostas no documento de Pernambuco (2012) objetivam o desenvolvimento e a construção do pensamento geométrico por meio do raciocínio visual.

The research present, of documentary feature, introduce an analysis regarding the block of geometry contents proposed by the Parameters for Basic Education of the state of Pernambuco for the teaching process in the early years of elementary school. It has been analyzed from the perspective of Van Hiele's theory of the development of geometric thinking, especially of level 1 (visualization or recognition), what are the learning expectations of the curricular document that explore the visual perception of students in the early years as a factor for the construction of geometric knowledge. Through the analysis of results it was identified that in the proper stage of education the learning expectations set forth in the document of Pernambuco (2012) aim at the development and construction of geometric thinking through visual reasoning
