O artigo aborda, em um viés humanista e crítico, de que maneira a pandemia da COVID-19 explicitou a importância da participação da estrutura providencial do Estado para minorar os malefícios dessa grande moléstia, assim como, de que maneira sociedades desprovidas de substancialidade democrática foram subjugadas pela conjugação entre autoritarismo político e lógica ultraliberal de mercado, para prejuízo da população.
The article addresses, in a humanistic and critical bias, how the COVID-19 pandemic explained the importance of the participation of the providential structure of the State to alleviate the harms of this great disease, as well as how societies without democratic substantiality were subjugated by the combination of political authoritarianism and ultraliberal market logic, to the detriment of the population.
