Este artigo é uma reflexão acerca do texto etnográfico, mais especificamente sobre o significado da escrita na legitimidade do trabalho de campo do antropólogo. Simplificando, temos, de um lado, os que “naturalizam” a escrita, como se ela fosse um mero veículo descritivo da prática e, de outro, os que advogam que a escrita é o que valida a etnografia.
This article is a reflection on the ethnographic text; more specifically, on the significance of writing in legitimating the anthropological fieldwork. In simple terms, there are, on the one side, those who take a “naturalistic” approach to writing and treat the text as a mere description of the ethnographic practice. On the other, we can find those who believe that the validation of ethnography is in its writing.
