Este artigo relata como se desenvolveu a pesquisa sobre os sentidos de ser surdo, com enfoque teórico-metodológico nas representações sociais, desenvolvida no Instituto Nacional de Educação de Surdo (INES), e teve por objetivo buscar indícios das representações sociais de ser surdo, produzidas por alunos do ensino fundamental matriculados neste Instituto.
This article relates the research on the meanings of being deaf, with a theoretical-methodological approach of the social representations. The research was developed at the National Institute for the Education of the Deaf - INES. The intention of the study was to search indications of the social representations of being deaf produced by Fundamental Education (Elementary and Junior High School) students of this institution.
