O presente artigo reconhece as limitações da escola em transformar a sociedade. Procurando superar tanto a fragilidade inocente do otimismo exarcebado quanto o pessimismo imobilizante, aponta para as possibilidades de mudanças que a educação escolar - ensino - possui. As reflexões têm como base as concepções Frenetiana do educador francês do século XX.
The present paper acknowledges the limitations of the school in transforming society. Seeking to overcome the innocent fragility of an exagerated optimism, as well as the immobilizing pessimism, the paper points to possibilities of change that the education - teaching - has. The discussions are based on the conceptions of the French educator of the XXth century: Freinet.
