Resultado da pesquisa de Mestrado em Educação e Contemporaneidade
realizada no Colégio Estadual Mário Costa Neto/Salvador-BA, a pesquisa
considerou os dez anos da Lei Federal 10.639/03 que prevê a obrigatoriedade
da temática "História e Cultura Afro-Brasileira" nas escolas. Analisar o
currículo, as práxis pedagógicas depois da aplicação da lei, e as relações
étnico-raciais dos discentes foram objetivos do trabalho. O Estudo de Caso,
a pesquisa documental, observações do espaço escolar e questionário aos
alunos foram adotados. Constatou-se que a aplicação da Lei não está ocorrendo
efetivamente.

Resumo Inglês:

This text aims to present the research done in the public school Colégio Estadual
Mário Costa Neto in Salvador/BA. The study considered the implementation
of the Federal Law 10.639/03, that foresees the obligatoriness of the
theme: “Afro-Brazilian Culture and History” and set as content, in the school
environment, the study of Africa and Africans History, the fight of black people
in Brazil, the Brazilian black people culture and black people as part of the formation
of the society. Analyze curriculum transformation of this school from the
adoption of the law in their teaching, as well as the construction of ethno-racial
relationships among the students from 6th to 9th grade in the afternoon shift
is one of the goals of this work. In order to observe how these questions are
being treated in the studied school, were adopted as method the Case Study
and, as methodological procedures, the documental researching, the school
observation and the semi-structured interviews.
