Um olhar sobre a hierarquia das quatro operações aritméticas nas expressões numéricas

Este artigo é um recorte de dissertação de mestrado que teve como objetivo principal encontrar uma justificativa para a hierarquia das quatro operações matemáticas nas expressões numéricas. No decorrer da pesquisa, nos deparamos com autores que relatam que expressão numérica é um conteúdo que ainda se faz presente no dia a dia escolar e nos livros didáticos. Porém, documentos oficiais como, por exemplo, Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais (PCN), não os trazem mais. Para melhor embasar o trabalho da dissertação, verificamos como este conteúdo é apresentado nos documentos oficias tais como PCN e Matriz de Referência de Matemática – SAEB/Prova Brasil, assim como em alguns livros didáticos adotados nas escolas onde atuamos. Não encontrando justificativa para a hierarquia das quatro operações matemáticas nas expressões numéricas, apresentamos uma proposta de justificativa para esta hierarquia.

This article is a clipping of master’s dissertation that had as main objective to find a justification for the hierarchy of the four mathematical operations in the numerical expressions. During the research, we have found authors who commented that numerical expressions is a content that it is still present in school everyday and in school textbooks. However, official documents, such as the National Curricula Parameters (NCP), do not bring numerical expressions any more. To support the dissertation research, we verified how in fact this content is presented in official documents such as the NCP and the matrix of mathematical reference – SAEB/Prova Brasil, as well as in some school textbooks used in the schools where we work. Since we have found no explanation for the hierarchy of the four mathematical operations in the numerical expressions, we present a proposition of justification for this hierarchy. However, before that, we present a brief history of the content.
