Neste artigo, pretende-se divulgar o projeto de pesquisa intitulado Ensino de matemática para o deficiente visual, que está sendo desenvolvido no Instituto Federal do Paraná – IFPR – Campus Foz do Iguaçu, que tem como objetivo elaborar materiais didáticos, apresentando estratégias e recursos instrucionais que promovam o ensino e aprendizagem dos conceitos de matemática para estudantes com deficiência visual. O projeto é constituído por acadêmicas do curso de Licenciatura em Física, o aluno deficiente visual do curso Técnico em Informática e integrantes do Grupo de Pesquisa em Educação, Ciências e Matemática (GPECiM)/IFPR. O projeto que iniciou neste ano de 2019, contribui para a aproximação da relação professor/aluno, na formação dos professores para lidar com determinadas deficiências buscando estratégias didáticas e amparando o aluno com deficiência visual nas suas dificuldades e dúvidas em relação aos conteúdos de matemática.

Promoting the inclusion of the visually impaired in educational institutions is one of the challenges experienced by 21st century mathematics teachers. In this sense, a research project entitled Teaching mathematics for the visually impaired was developed in 2019, at the Federal Institute of Paraná (IFPR), Foz do Iguaçu campus. Thus, the team proposing the project involved mathematics teachers from the Research Group on Education, Sciences and Mathematics (GPECiM) / IFPR, in addition to the collaboration of the visually impaired student in the Technical course in Informatics and the students in the Physics Degree course of that campus. From this perspective, didactic materials, didactic strategies and instructional resources were developed to promote the teaching and learning of mathematics concepts for visually impaired students. Finally, it can be said that the project contributed to the approximation of the teacher / student relationship, as well as to the formation of academics and mathematics teachers and their difficulties in dealing with certain deficiencies, thus mediating the necessary and possible inclusion process in classes of math.
