A verdade se diz de muitos modos. São muitos os modos de falar da verdade, porque são muitos os modos de ser verdadeiro. Ela está naquele que apreende a realidade, na própria realidade e mesmo antes dela. Diz-se de cada uma dessas e da ordem que perpassa todas elas. O que, contudo, unifica esses modos? Muitos foram os filósofos que buscaram responder essa pergunta: Tomás de Aquino e Gottlob Frege, desde épocas, tradições e pontos de partida bem distintos, foram dois deles. Pela leitura cruzada de suas reflexões, é possível inquirir desde a noção mais basilar de verdade até sua definição em busca não apenas do elemento comum, mas da sua fundação na realidade. Estabelecido o ponto de acordo, pelas suas disparidades, podem-se aprofundar suas intuições e iluminar suas contribuições a fim de dizer algo ao homem de um tempo em que as opiniões subjetivas tomaram o lugar do referencial objetivo. Pela redescoberta da verdade se pode redescobrir todo o real.

Truth is said in many ways. There are many ways to talk about the truth, because there are many ways of being true. It is in the one who grasp reality, in reality itself and even before it. It is said of each of these and of the order which goes through them all. What, however, unifies these ways? There were many philosophers who sought to answer this question: Thomas Aquinas and Gottlob Frege, from very distinct ages, traditions and starting points, were two of them. By cross-reading their reflections it is possible to inquire from the most basic notion of truth to its definition in search not only of the common element but of its foundation in reality. Once the point of agreement has been established, by their disparities one can deepen their intuitions and illuminate their contributions in order to say something to men of a time when subjective opinions have taken the place of objective referential. By rediscovering the truth one can rediscover all the real.
