Analisamos a implementação da Política Nacional de Assistência Social/Sistema Único de Assistência Social -PNAS/SUAS,em Minas Gerais, no período de 2007 a 2014, através de pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, referente às atas do Conselho Estadual de Assistência Social e da legislação atinente à temática, além de basearmo-nos na pesquisa de campocom os Diretores Regionais e Técnicos de Nível Superior das Diretorias Regionais da Secretaria de Estado de Trabalho e Desenvolvimento Social -SEDESE. Constatamos que a PNAS fortaleceu as Diretorias Regionais, em sua expansão e interiorização, e elas atuam no sentido do cumprimento de seu papel enquanto ente estadual regionalizado, porém carecem de maior suporte para exercer em plenitude as suas atribuições, apresentando-se como grandes gargalos a centralização das ações e a falta de financiamento para melhoria da sua capacidade institucional
We analyzed the implementation of the "National Social Assistance Policy / Single Social Assistance System -PNAS / SUAS", in Minas Gerais, from 2007 to 2014, through a bibliographical and documentary research related to the minutes of the "State Council of Social Assistance" and of legislation related to the subject, in addition to being based on field research with the "Regional Directors" and "Higher Level Technicians" of the “Regional Directorates of the State Department of Labor and Social Development"-SEDESE. We note that the PNAS strengthened the "Regional Directorates", in their expansion and internalization, and they act in the sense of fulfilling their role as a regionalized state entity, but they lack greater support to fully exercise their attributions, presenting themselves as great bottlenecks the centralization of actions and the lack of funding to improve their institutional capacity
