Embora os países da américa latina contem com raízes culturais semelhantes, há diversas matérias do processo civil que têm tratamento distinto, e uma delas é a coisa julgada. Propõe-se com o presente estudo, portanto, o estudo comparado de aspectos do instituto da coisa julgada à luz dos ordenamentos brasileiro, argentino, colombiano e peruano, pontuando, ao final, quais são as principais distinções e aproximações. O método utilizado para a obtenção dos resultados será o comparativo.

Although the countries of Latin America have similar cultural roots, there are several matters in the civil process that have different treatment, and one of them is the res judicata. The present study proposes the comparative study of aspects of the institute of the res judicata in the Brazilian, Argentine, Colombian and Peruvian ordinances, and, at the end, what are the main distinctions and approximations. The method used to obtain the results will be the comparative one.
