Neste texto, buscamos evidenciar as mudanças ocorridas na educação e no ensino dematemática em contextos protestantes, na primeira metade do século XVII. Essa reorganização daeducação foi imprescindível para a difusão da nova ciência de então e se relaciona ao desenvolvimentodo comércio e da indústria, à ascensão da burguesia e a sua oposição aos discursos da escolástica e aosmodos de vida da nobreza.
In this paper, we have highlighted the changes in mathematics education and teaching in the first half of the seventeenth century, in the Protestant context of that period. These changes were essential for the diffusion of the new science in place and they were related to the development of trading and industry, to the rise of the bourgeoisie and to this class opposition to the discourses of the scholastic group and the nobilities’ lifestyles.
